Alessandra Giovannoli

Cello

Born in Venice, Italy. She obtains a Master's degree in chamber music in the “Gaetano Braga” conservatory in Teramo, a Master's degree in Orchestral Music Performance at the Hochschule Luzern Musik Switzerland. She continues her studies in baroque cello at ESMUC, Barcelona, with Emmanuel Balssa, and in Italy with Catherine Jones and Gaetano Nasillo.

She has performed in masterclasses with Gerhart Darmstadt, Luis Otavio Santos, Marco Ceccato, Manfredo Kraemer, Rodolfo Richter, Jaap Ter Linden and Sigiswald Kuijken.

In 2005 she was selected for the Accademia della Scala in Milan, and in 2009 and 2010 she did an internship in the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester. She has collaborated with different orchestras in Italy, Swizerland, Brazil and Spain, such as the Orchestra of the City of Granada, the Orchestra Milano Classica, the Orchestra “1813” in Como, Orquestra Sinfônica de Santo André.

She has performed as soloist with the orchestra Arte Barroca in São Paulo and with Staadtorchester Luzern.

In the field of early music, she also performed with ensembles such as Juíz de Fora Festival Baroque Orchestra (Brazil) and Teatre Instrumental in Barcelona.  She has been part of several chamber ensembles such Zäire ensemble, performing in several festivals in Spain and in the Oude Muziek Utrecht. She corrently plays with Concerto Ibérico, Íliber ensemble, and participates in many festivals and recordings.
